About ElecCalc

ElecCalc is a free, mobile-first suite of electrical calculators built for Australian and New Zealand electricians. 25 tools covering cable sizing, voltage drop, arc flash, earthing, and more, all referencing AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025.

Why we built it

Existing tools are either expensive (jCalc at A$265/year), desktop-only, or still reference the 2017 standard. Sparkies on site need quick, reliable calculations on their phone without a subscription or login. ElecCalc fills that gap.

How it works

Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to a server. Results update live as you type. You can export results as a PDF report or save them to your calculation history (stored locally on your device, not in the cloud).

ElecCalc also installs as a Progressive Web App (PWA), so it works offline once you have added it to your home screen.

Who is behind it

ElecCalc is built and maintained by SEY Solutions, an Australian software business (ABN 13 531 353 123) building tools for the electrical trade industry. ElecCalc is part of a broader ecosystem that includes SparkyToolkit (iOS) and EmergencyAPI.

Important disclaimer

All calculation values are provided as guidance only and must be verified by a qualified electrical engineer before use in design or installation. Lookup tables are pending validation by a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) against AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2025 and related standards.
