What it costs to run

The site costs about $20 a month in hosting before anything else. On top of that come the domain, the Australian and New Zealand standards the calculators are checked against, and the hours spent fixing and extending the tools. Every correction a reader sends in gets checked against the standard and fixed, and that work is what keeps the results trustworthy.

What your support pays for

• Hosting, so the calculators stay fast on a phone on site.
• Current copies of the standards, so calculations can be checked clause by clause rather than from memory.
• New tools that sparkies ask for, and fixes when someone finds an error.

Free ways to help

• Send in corrections. If a result or a clause reference looks wrong, tell me. Reader reports have already fixed real errors on this site.
• Share it. Pass the link to your apprentice, your crew or your TAFE class. Word of mouth is how most people find ElecCalc.
• Link to it. If you run a business site, blog or training page, a link to the calculator you use most helps other sparkies find it.

Where the money goes, honestly

ElecCalc is run by SEY Solutions, my small business in Adelaide. Support is a tip, not a purchase: you do not get extra features for it, because there are no locked features. Everyone gets the same calculators.
